“Where Education Meets Entertainment!”
The Overcash Performing Arts Center, the new gateway to Central Campus of Central Piedmont Community College, faces Uptown Charlotte from King’s Drive between 4th and Elizabeth. This stunning, 130,000-square-foot facility was designed by architect Jeffery Dalzell from the local firm of Little and Associates.
A New Jewel in the Charlotte Arts Scene
The new Dale F. Halton Theater crowns the Halton family’s great commitment to this community in beauty and in outreach. CPCC has produced performing arts events on its Central Campus for over three decades. Now, with this magnificent 1020-seat venue, built in the style of a 19th Century opera house, the college houses theatre, music and dance productions on a stage worthy of the world’s great artists.
Redefining Performances in the Piedmont
The facility has a 2500 square foot stage, a full fly house, an orchestra pit that holds up to forty instrumentalists and a custom-designed acoustical Diva orchestra shell by Wenger, the industry leader in performance equipment. The stage sports an 18’ by 24’ projection screen and a surround sound system for film and video presentations. The new dressing rooms are spacious, and the building has scenery and costume shops and a 2000 square foot rehearsal hall.
